Talking to us about workshop equipment

Hurricane Equipment supplies spray booths, chassis straightening systems, vehicle lifts, welding machines, compressors and panel-beating tools to workshops across South Africa, and exports the same range into Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique and the rest of the continent. We have been importing and installing this equipment since 2006, which means most enquiries are answered by someone who has stood in a workshop like yours and installed the machine you are asking about.

The quickest way to a useful answer is the form above. Tell us the equipment you are considering, your business location — this drives the transport cost — and whether your shop does insurance work, because insurance and dealership approvals affect which chassis and measuring equipment you can use. If you would rather speak to someone, the direct phone numbers and email addresses for our branch manager, office and sales team are listed on this page.

    Common questions before you enquire

How quickly will I get a quote?

Enquiries received during business hours are normally answered the same working day. Straightforward items — a welder, a dent puller, a compressor — are usually quoted immediately. A spray booth or a full workshop layout takes longer because the quote includes freight, installation and any civil or electrical work, so allow one to three working days.

Are prices shown on the website?

Prices are on request. Landed cost depends on exchange rates, current freight rates, delivery destination and the specification you choose, so we quote per project rather than publish a figure that will be out of date within weeks. We import directly from the factories, which is what keeps the pricing competitive against local resellers.

    Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes. We deliver anywhere in South Africa and quote transport as a line item so you can see it clearly. For cross-border orders we handle packaging, freight coordination and export documentation — the export into Africa page explains that process step by step.

Do you install the equipment, or is it supply only?

Both, depending on the item. Spray booths, prep decks, chassis benches and lifts are installed and commissioned by our teams within South Africa. For export orders we provide installation supervision on site or remote guidance with full documentation. Smaller tools and consumables are supplied ready to use.

Is your equipment approved for insurance work?

Our chassis straightening and measuring equipment includes Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi approved systems, which is what most insurers and manufacturers require for structural repairs. Tell us which approvals you need and we will specify accordingly.

What warranty and after-sales support do I get?

Equipment carries a manufacturer warranty, and we hold spares and consumables for the ranges we supply — filters, clamps, welding consumables and compressor service parts. South African installations can be put on a scheduled service arrangement.

    Can I visit the showroom?

Yes, by appointment, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm at our Johannesburg / Pretoria facility. Booths, benches, lifts and compressors are set up so you can see the build quality before committing. Call ahead so the right person is available.

I only need one machine — is that too small?

No. We supply single tools and consumables as readily as full fit-outs, and many of our long-standing customers started with one welder or dent puller.

What to send with your enquiry

If you are planning a booth or a workshop layout, the details that speed things up most are your internal building dimensions (length, width and clear height), your available electrical supply, the vehicle types you work on, and your target throughput per week. Photos or a rough floor sketch help. For a specific machine, the model or SKU from our product range is enough.

You can also see completed projects in our installation portfolio, or read about the business on our about page.
