An induction heater puts heat into ferrous metal directly through an electromagnetic field. There is no flame, so heat is localised to the component instead of spreading across the panel — the difference between freeing a seized bolt and scorching the surrounding paint and trim.
Typical body-shop uses are releasing bonded glass and moulding adhesive, loosening rusted or seized fasteners, shrinking stretched metal, and fitting or removing bearings. A bearing heater brings the race up to fitting temperature evenly without hammering it on.
Because there is no gas bottle or naked flame, induction reduces fire risk near fuel lines, trim, glass and interiors, which is why many workshops move to it from oxy-acetylene for this class of work.

- Price depends on output power, duty cycle and the coil set included. Each system is quoted on request — tell us the jobs you need it for.
- What metals can an induction heater work on?
- Induction heats ferrous (magnetic) metals most effectively. Non-ferrous materials such as aluminium respond differently and generally need purpose-designed coils or an alternative method.
- Is induction heating safer than a gas torch?
- It removes the open flame and gas bottles from the job, which lowers fire risk near fuel lines, trim and glass. The component itself still gets extremely hot, so normal heat-handling precautions apply.
