- What is the difference between a prep deck and a spray booth?
- A prep deck is an extracted, lit station for sanding, masking and priming. A spray booth is a sealed, filtered and usually heated enclosure for applying and curing topcoat. Using a prep deck keeps the booth free for spraying.
- Will a prep deck increase my shop throughput?
- Usually yes. Preparation takes far longer than spraying, so moving it out of the booth removes the main bottleneck and lets the booth run more spray cycles per day.
- Do I need a separate paint mixing room?
- A dedicated mixing room gives you ventilated, secure paint storage and consistent lighting for colour matching, and keeps mixing contamination away from your booth.
